Back when the Blues started the road trip back on March 11, Andy McDonald was healthy, Carlo Colaiacovo wasn't wrapped around a goalpost and Danny Syvret hadn't been called up from Peoria. Well McDonald has a bum wing, Colaiacovo is probably in traction somewhere and Syvret was called up, traveled to be with the team and then sent back down to Peoria without playing in a game. But he'll always have the NHL meal money to remember.
Game seven of the journey away from St. Louis (for NCAA wrestling and Disney princesses on ice) is tonight in Phoenix. Yes, the NHL is still in Phoenix. For now. As of this afternoon the Blues were tied with the New York Rangers for first overall in the NHL. They still lead the Western Conference and the Central Division.
The Coyotes are in seventh place, but not comfortably. They're just one point ahead of three teams all vying for eighth. So the Yotes will be motivated to get a point or two.
One player not to worry about is Shane Doan who is sitting out because he doesn't play well with others. His elbow got him a three-game suspension, but it was on Jamie Benn of the Stars...who probably had it coming anyway.
Kris Russell is expected back after seeing little Tweety Birds and stars when not watching Looney Tunes. Now if they could only get back Alexander Steen.
There will be a good goaltender in net for the Blues. I'm not sure which one. But don't worry about details like that. Briaslov Halliot will play well no matter what. And yes, I just made that up.
