Today's Memorial Cup Update

May 23, 2012: Saint John defeats Shawinigan, 4-1. Ryan Tesink scored his third goal of the tournament, and was named the game's first star in Saint John's victory. Stephen Macaulay was held of the scoresheet but was a plus-1 in the game, won six of 16 faceoffs taken, and also picked up a high sticking minor. Yannick Veilleux was also held scoreless in the game, posted a minus-1 and recorded three hits, and received an unsportsmanlike conduct minor in a game that saw 72 total penalty minutes called.

Shawinigan plays Edmonton tonight in a tiebreaker game for the right to face Saint John in the seminfinal. London has advanced to the final, and will await the winner of the Saint John-(tiebreaker winner) game to play for the Memorial Cup this weekend.
