Today's Memorial Cup Update

May 24, 2012: Shawinigan Destroys Edmonton, 6-1. There will be at least one Blues' prospect playing this weekend for a shot at major junior hockey's ultimate prize.

Yannick Veilleux scored his first goal of the tournament, and the first goal of the game, as the host Shawinigan Cataractes trounced the WHL champion Edmonton Oil Kings by a 6-1 score.

With the win, Shawinigan earns the right to face QMJHL rival Saint John tomorrow night in the semifinal match. The winner of tomorrow's semifinal game will take on the OHL champion London Knights on Sunday for the 2012 Memorial Cup.
