So the Blues are down 3-0 in the series against the Kings. That does not make any of us happy, I understand. Like I promised the Game Time crew and you, my fellow-readers, I was gonna post Part 2 of my recent trip to St. Louis on the site as well. And why today?? Well, maybe these pics and vids of my recent trip to St. Louis and the Blues can give us all a bit of a confidence boost.
They sure let you and me relive that Game 1 and 2 atmosphere in the 1st round against the Sharks. Man, it still gives me goosebumps. So let's get inspired by that.
And mind you: do not lose hope. Stranger things happened than turning around a series. Let's just keep faith in the Blues winning at least the game in LA, so that you all can get at least one more tast of a Blues game in the Drinkscotch this year. The video down below will surely make you feel a little bit better. I hope.
So, here you go. Pics and vids. And two noteworthy conversations. Or should I say: suprising conversations. Enjoy! After the break!!
WARMUP: two strange conversations
1. Having to go through customs in Chicago, I had a strange but funny conversation with the customs guy.
He: 'Sir, is Chicago your final destination?'
Me: 'Nope. St. Louis, going to visit friends and watching playoff hockey.'
He (looking at my silicone Blues wristband I always wear): 'Ah... the Blues? Is THAT your favorite team??' (you could hear the sarcasm, the disgust almost)
Me: 'Yes sir. Ofcourse.'
He: 'Eh... you know where you are now, right? Chicago... And you tell me you are a Blues fan? And I should let you go through customs into America now?'
Me: 'Well, yes. I just give an honest answer right?'
He: 'Hm. And what do you think of the Blackhawks?'
Me: (making it up) 'I hope they beat the Coyotes in the first round.'
He: (with a smile) 'Allright, sir. You can go, enjoy your stay in the United States.'
2. Who needs FS Midwest Girls anyway??
Remember the Fox Sports Midwest Contest? I wanted to win play-off tickets, and wrote a poem to those chicas to go with my entry. Most of you read it overhere. Most of you also know I did not win, being not-eligible (because I was non-Missouri or non-Illinois citizan). Well, I saw the girls outside Scottrade before the 1st game. So I walked up to them showed them the poem on my iPhone and said:
Me: 'Hello (to the blonde one). Do you remember this? (ointing at screen of phone, to poem)'
She: (looks at screen, then at me, back at screen and back at me) 'Ehhh...huh?? Yeah. Oh. What? Wow. It's you. You made it?? All the way from...'
Me: 'Netherlands. Europe.'
She: 'Yeah... wow. Oh my gosh (turns around to other people). Look, it's that guy from the poem.'
Me: 'Well, just wanted to show you that I made it in the end. Too bad I was not eligible... But I can get here without winning. I have American friends, great people.'
She: 'That's great. And now?'
Me: 'Now I will go look for them. Thanks. See ya.'
(she looked bewildered because I did not - in the contrary to lots of people in front of me, asked her for a picture or autograph. But hey... I thought: you are not eligible...LOL!)
That was a warmup. NOW THE PICS AND VIDS!

Well, that's it for me, folks... It seems like long ago already, this trip. But man, I LOVED it. And mind you...I WILL BE BACK.
Let's get a win in LA. St. Louis, you deserve at least one other home game in the play-offs. Thanks all!!
