St. Louis Blues 2012 Recap

In an effort to close out the season on a good note after that Blues-Kings series, I want to look at St. Louis squad from best to worst this year. To do so, I am using a very simple formula. I am just going to take hockey-reference's point shares and divide them by minutes played to come up with point shares per minute on the ice for each player on the Blues this season. I will also divide the point shares by games played to get points shares per game on the ice. Statistics after the jump.

Point Shares Per Minute Played in 2011-2012

Adam Cracknell - 0.2 point shares, 15 minutes played, .01333 PS/min

Andy McDonald - 3.1 point shares, 463 minutes played, .00670 PS/min

My final prognosis of doing this is that Point Shares on hockey-reference.com take offense into account much more than defense. These lines would most likely not work, but it was an interesting exercise, in any case. I hope you enjoyed.
