Shea Weber signs monster offer sheet with Flyers

The newswire has Shea Weber signing a 14-year, $100M+ offer sheet with the Philadelphia Flyers. Thoughts? Will the Predators match such a massive commitment? How does this play out in the future if Weber decides to move on (a la Rick Nash)? Its been known that Predators GM David Poile has been shopping Weber on the trade market of late, so this comes at an interesting time. Did the Flyers get spooked at the prospect of Weber ending up with a division rival such as the Rangers, and decided to make their play before it was too late?

Personally I believe the Predators would be fools not to match. Any questions about Weber's motives for the future or attitude towards staying in Nashville for the rest of his career are all academic if he walks away right now. If he didn't want to stay, he wouldn't have put himself in the position to be staying until he's 40, knowing that the Predators will in all likelihood match the offer. His motivation was getting his long-long-term deal in under the current CBA, rather than waiting his year for UFA.
