Game two is about to start between two Central Division rivals with less animosity than most. These two teams just tend to frustrate each other's scorers, but the Blues have loaded up on oomph and firepower. Can Pekka Rinne handle that?
It's game time! Gosh, it seems like not long ago the Blues were busy plowing over the Red Wings, and here we are already facing the first of back-to-back games! Them's the breaks with a shortened schedule, I suppose.
The line-up for tonight will be the same as Saturday's. Why mess with what so obviously worked? The defensive pairings will stay the same as well, so tonight we'll be looking at:
Forwards:
David Perron - David Backes - T.J. Oshie
Andy McDonald - Alex Steen - Vladimir Tarasenko
Jaden Schwartz - Patrik Berglund -Chris Stewart
Vladimir Sobotka - Scott Nichol - Ryan Reaves
Defensive Pairings
Barret Jackman Alex Pietrangelo
Of course, in net again, will be Jaroslav Halak. Halak was 1-2-2 last year against the Preds, which isn't indicative of how well he played. He only allowed nine goals over those five games, with a 1.72 GAA and a .932 SV%.
Happy 600th game played, Mr. Barret Jackman! Go out and embarrass Mike Fisher or someone.
