GameThread for Carolina Hurricanes at St. Louis Blues, Nov 16, 2013

Dilip Vishwanat

Former inmates of the Southeast Division, the Carolina Hurricanes are in the last playoff spot in the equally bad Metropolitan Division. So much for movin' on up.

When the Southeast Division went the way of the dodo, everyone expected the cream to rise in the Metropolitan and Flortheast Divisions. That hasn't happened - someone grabbed that jug of whole milk that is the Eastern Conference and shook it as hard as possible.

Then left it outside in the sun for a while.

The Blues have traditionally played well against the Hurricanes, and they probably will tonight. Just keep your fingers crossed that Justin Peters is tired, that Jordan Staal keeps slumping, and that Alex Semin continues to forget how to score.

This is your GameDay Thread. Let's cheer on a couple more Alexander Steen goals. Let's hope that Chris Stewart's still fired up. Let's not take any unnecessary penalties. Let's do this.

Let's Go Blues.
