The St. Louis Blues defeated the Minnisota Wild tonight in a 3-0 Shutout for Jaroslav Halak. Let's Recap!

I am going to be honest I am dead tired tonight. So I am going to be quick with this tonight.

Tonight the St. Louis Blues owned the first period… and pretty much every period after that. Dominating the play in all areas against the Minnesota Wild. 30 seconds into the first The Wild looked to have scored an early quick goal but the on ice officials waved it off after stopping the play. The war room in Toronto would agree with the initial call as the High Stick was pretty god damn inconclusive to everyone else but NBCSN and their commentators. But Vladimir Sobotka would not let the scoreboard be bare for long. At 1:20 the returning Carlo Colaiacovo would take a shot from the blue line and set Sobe up for a juicy rebound off of Niklas Backstrom.

That would not be the only goal of the period. Alexander Steen would score on Backstrom at 13:38. T.J. Oshie would chip the puck along the boards getting it back to Jay Bouwmeester. Bouwmeester would take the shot on net and Steener would Backhand it past Backstrom, making the score 2-0.

The rest of the period would see St. Louis continuing to dominate play, particularly in puck possession and offensive zone pressure. They held the Wild to just 4 shots all period.

The second would see much of the same from the blue and yellow. The two teams would trade penalties but neither would capitalize on the man advantage. Minnesota would step it up this period and testosterone started spilling out not the ice. The Blues kept in step with Minni, even some times appearing to be a step a head of them.

The third round of the Hockey contest would start off with the Blues continued pressure. Fatigue would set in for the Wild through out the period. They would put some pressure on the blues through out the two power plays they accumulated. In the last minute of play the Wild would pull Bacstrom for the man advantage. None other then Steen would put the puck in the empty net, effectively putting the final nail in the coffin of Minnesota’s game.
