Dirty rottin son of a bitch I's going to kill you for Dat hit on Young Vlad!!! - Dilip Vishwanat

During last night's Game Toronto's David Clarkson tried to remove Vladimir Sobotka's head in the Second Period... with quite a bit of force. This afternoon The NHL Department of Player Safety announced they will have a Phone Hearing with Clarkson Saturday Morning to discuss the hit.

Official Release from NHL.com:

Toronto Maple Leafs right wing David Clarkson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday morning for a hit on St. Louis Blues left wing Vladimir Sobotka in a game Thursday night at Scottrade Center.
At 6:28 of the second period, Clarkson was assessed a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head of Sobotka, who remained in the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
St. Louis won the game, 6-3.

Sobe continued to play the game. He was a little shook up from the check itself but didn't appear to be injured or concussed. Which is a plus. But this is a pretty Interesting development.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a video of the hit to link to. If anyone out there has one please post it in the comments.
