You remember David Perron, correct? Slick hands, dazzling puck-handling skills, phenomenal offensive zone penalties?
The guy who has 14 goals and 13 assists in 33 games? Yeah. I'm sure that you remember him. While we all wish him well (or as well as possible in Edmonton), it doesn't change his current situation or the Blues. He's toiling away on a line with Sam Gagner and Nail Yakupov for a team that's in the basement of the West yet again, while Magnus Pääjarvi is... well... he is wherever Ken Hitchcock puts him, isn't he?
Oh well. The salary dump was nice, wasn't it?
Anywho, the Blues made tonight's trip sans Vladimir Sobotka, who the team placed on the IR Friday. They did, however, make the trip with captain David Backes. He skated at practice yesterday, and although he won't play tonight, there's a chance he makes it back for Monday night's game against the Flames.
This is your morning open thread. Head over to The Copper and Blue to say hi to the crew over thataways, and make sure you come back for a game preview courtesy of CCR, your GDT, and a RBR recap that will be posted because the site won't be down today like it was yesterday.
