Gregory Shamus
It's an early game in the Eastern Time Zone tonight, with puck drop at 6:30. Get ready for a pretty heated re-match, with one team wanting revenge and the other more than happy to keep on rolling.
Hey, remember this guy?
No? Well, you should. He was one of the two unfortunate souls that the Blues victimized for three goals on eight shots during their 10-3 win on March 30th, 2011. He was a young pup then, in the ECHL. Now he's the Grand Rapid Griffins' goaltender, and he's playing pretty well. He has a little bit more experience under his belt, and he'll be sitting on the bench in Detroit tonight in relief of Jimmy Howard. If the Blues get Howard pulled again, this is our reward. The thing is, Howard probably won't get pulled. Tonight's game isn't going to be the same game as the game on January 19th.
It's funny to read game previews that say that the Red Wings beating the Blues tonight would be a measuring stick for Detroit. Usually that's the other way around. Honestly, who cares about measuring stick games? Just get out there and play good hockey, and the Blues have been doing that a lot recently. Detroit? Average at best, but you never can tell.
