GameThread for St. Louis Blues at Calgary Flames, Feb 15, 2013

Dale MacMillan

The road trip continues, with the Blues heading out west to take on the Calgary Flames. Jake Allen and Leland Irving will be in net tonight for the two teams. Let's hope the Blues rope up a win in the Saddledome.

You know what I've heard is all the rage? Winning consecutive games! All of the cool teams are doing it, you know.

And the Blues were a cool team to start the season. Sure, that five game losing streak dealt them a bit of a whammy, but that's so five minutes ago. An overtime game winning goal from Alexander Steen made sure of that!

Heading into tonight's game, there is a chance that David Backes may not be 100%. He tweaked his groin yesterday during practice, but should be skating. Whether or not he's on the workhorse of a top line or not remains to be seen, but he should be in uniform. Jaroslav Halak, of course, will not be. Jake Allen earned the start tonight with his win over the Red Wings, and frankly it wouldn't kill Brian Elliott to clear his head a little more and to get something resembling focus back.

This is your gameday thread. Feel free to make Dutchie jokes, throw around some puppy .gifs, and just mention how much the Flames need to rebuild because everyone else does.

Let's go Blues.
