St. Charles Chill Add More Local Talent

Robert Moss joins the Chill after a strong year in the SPHL - Stephanie Simpers

The St. Charles Chill have added three locals to the organization, a goalie, a forward, and a new associate coach.

For the St. Charles Chill, local talent is present and accounted for within the organization. Thursday, the team added to the local talent pool, adding goaltender, Robert Moss, center, Sean Muncy, and new associate coach, J.P. Beilsten.

Muncy, a 28 year old, Chesterfield native, joins the organization after spending the last season playing with Eindhoven Kemphanen in the Netherlands. He posted 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists) in 25 games. Muncy is a veteran of the Central Hockey League. Playing in 127 CHL games with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, the Fort Worth Brahmas, the Arizona Sundogs, and the Missouri Mavericks. In the 127 games in the CHL, Muncy recorded 30 goals, 55 asissts for 85 points. Muncy isn't going to wow you in anyways on the ice. He stands at an average six feet tall, weighing in at 185 pounds. He's more than capable of putting up some points, but isn't going to be an offensive dynamo. Muncy's best asset is his two way ability. He'll have the chance to rack up some time on the penalty kill this season for the Chill. Before turning pro with the Killer Bees, Muncy played at Brown University for four seasons, registering 29 points (11 G, 18 A).

Moss, 25, also calls Chesterfield home, and joins the Chill as the second goaltender on the roster. Head coach and general manager, Jamie Rivers, inked Kevin McFarland earlier this year. Moss turned pro last season with the Augusta RiverHawks of the Southern Professional Hockey League, registering 16 wins, posting a goals against average of 2.93 and a save percentage of .913. Moss signed a contract earlier this off-season with the Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL and if for any reason he is sent down, he'll report to Peoria. Before turning pro with Augusta, Moss played at St. Lawrence University.

The last addition to the organization is associate coach, J.P. Beilsten. Beilsten is a native of St. Louis, and has playing experience in the CHL and the now defunct, United Hockey League. Beilsten joins head coach Jamie Rivers after holding the head coaching position with the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Beilsten's record with the Jr. Blues was an outstanding, 117-32-7-14. He is a very solid addition to the Chill's organization and will certainly help head coach Jamie Rivers lead the Chill into their inaugural season.
