We need to get away from 4 line scoring. We have much more success with 3 legit scoring lines loaded up and a 4th energy line. If our scoring lines are getting shut down, our energy guys come in and provide the boost we need to jumpstart our other lines. This can even lead to the energy line providing points on the scoreboard like in the playoffs with the CPR line. Putting Roy on the 4th line makes no sense to me. We have a log jam and I think PRV and Jaskin can both fight for Stewarts spot.
I do not want to turn this into a Stewart bashing thread but here is how I look at him. He is a horrible two-way player. If he is scoring, I'm okay with him. There were a few games this year where he played well with Morrow and Roy but I still don't think he was really playing our brand of hockey. If he isn't, he is a HUGE liability. I think it was during the Vancouver game, I noticed a few situations where he would dump the puck in deep and then just stand in place until the puck left the zone.
If you watch guys like Steen, Schwartz, and Sobotka, they always dump the puck deep and then turn on the gas to put pressure on the defense and allow the rest of the guys to get into position. It is very unselfish and the way we play. The lack of this kind of play from Stewart make him a Perron-type player that we do not need.
