Our own Robb Tufts' article on why we need to start worrying about Chris Stewart went a little viral Tuesday, with mentions from Craig Custance and Norm Sanders. I'm guessing that no one in New York saw it, because Darren Dreger tweeted this earlier today:
Western Conf teams suggest the Rangers are gathering intel on Chris Stewart. Callahan for Stewart would be a sweet deal for the Blues.

Not sure who "Western Conference teams" are, but it's Dreger. He doesn't just make stuff out of thin air. He's responsible with reporting rumors - even if they don't pan out you can be certain he heard of the possibility from a very legitimate source.
The Rangers' captain, who has spent his entire career with the team, has 9 goals and 11 assists this season, and is a -1. In contrast, Stewart has 15 goals, 10 assists, and is a +7 after a bit of a slow start. He's currently cooled off significantly and hasn't shown much on the ice as of late, but is it bad enough that Doug Armstrong views him as a liability despite his offensive numbers? Could Ryan Callahan get better in St. Louis?
