LW prospect Yannick Veilleux is just about the hottest thing going in the Blues' organ-I-zation right now. The rookie from Saint-Hipolytte, Quebec extended his point streak to six games tonight by coming up one assist short of a Gordie Howe hat trick.
Veilleux potted a pair for the K-Wings tonight, including once on the power play, and also dropped the gloves with Cincinnati's newly-acquired tough guy and Netherlands native Mike Dalhuisen, helping stake the Blues' ECHL affiliate to a 4-3 win over the Cyclones on the banks of the Ohio.
Veilleux has a 6-4-10 scoring line (plus-6, 9 PM, 2 PPG, 1 GWG) in the last six games, as the K-Wings have flown into the North Division lead with a 29-17-1-3 record (62 points) in 50 games, just two points shy of the Eastern Conference leading South Carolina Stingrays.
