The Pride of Eureka is headed to Robin Hood's stomping grounds. Former Blues enforcer Cam Janssen, who spent four seasons with the team, is going to add some punch to the Nottingham Panthers' line-up. Janssen spent last season with the New Jersey Devils' AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils, notching a goal and an assist in 34 games along with 84 penalty minutes.
The GMB Nottingham Panthers have made their last signing of the summer in the shape of NHL star Cam Janssen.
...
Cam is a high energy player, who looks after his team mates, knows when to do his stuff, and who is very excited to join the Panthers roster.
Former players of the Panthers played a big part in recommending the club to him and the player to the club and head coach Corey Neilson couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for the signing when he spoke to Panthers Radio this morning...
Cam Janssen had 657 penalty minutes during his time in the AHL and 774 minutes in the NHL. He’s mixed it with the best and will complement the skill guys on the Panthers roster in season 2015-16.
He won championships in the juniors and states his intention is to do more of that with the Panthers where he has heard all about the energy the fans give the players on the ice.
It’s another big signing for the Panthers – CAM JANSSEN PUTS PEN TO PAPER!
"Energy" is a word that I would use to describe CamSmash.
Questions:
- Was Coach Neilson coming home from the pub when asked about how excited he was with Janssen's signing?
- Who are the Panthers' "skill" players?
- Do the Panthers think that the Guelph Storm won because of Janssen (though 125 PIM in 29 GP is pretty impressive)?
- Why is the last sentence written like it should be part of the narration to a 1940s newsreel?
Seriously though, best of luck to Janssen with the Panthers this year. I hope he tries not to flash too many people.
