I know we are very pissed right now about last night. We played poorly for two periods, had some bad luck with high sticking, and one of our best players got hurt in a play that should have resulted in a much stiffer penalty. But right now we all need to take a deep breath and calm the fuck down. We are whining and complaining enough that we are starting to sound like Red Wing and Blackhawk fans, and we are much better than that. If there is one thing this Blues teams has done all year, its deal with adversity. Perron started out not playing, we adjusted. McDonald got a concussion early this year, we picked up the slack. Steen missed time, we found ways to win. Halak went out in the first round, Elliot transformed from great goalie to brick wall. If Petro has to miss some time it will suck, he is a talented kid. But unlike fans of some other Central teams, we need to focus on making sure this team knows that we are behind them and we will put our focus and energy on supporting them in the next game instead of talking about a missed call and dirty hit. Hitch will not allow the players to focus on what happened to Petro last night, but instead what happened the rest of the game which was we played very poorly for long stretches. We got outworked last night, and I think that will end up hurting the Blues players more than losing Petro because this team's M.O. all year has been we never get outworked. If Petro is out we will survive, if he isn't he will lead us to victory. If you are going to the game Tuesday make sure you don't sit on your hands like last night's crowd. Players have said this crowd can give them wins because they are so energetic. Let's start with game 2 and give them some momentum for the trip west.

Take a deep breath, trust Hitch, and lets go BLUUUUUESSSS!!!!

I've never visited before. I'm seeing two Cards games and Game 1.

What are some must-see places outside of Busch Stadium/DrinkScotch Centre? How is parking and/or public transportation (I'm staying near the airport)? What are the recommended eating establishments/watering holes? Are there more economical alternatives to purchase Blues/Cards paraphernalia compared to the respective team stores?

I'm so geeked! I've never had the chance to see the Blues in person, and my first game will be a playoff game.

So on my way into work this morning NPH had a peice about the NHL and pentalies. Aside from the obvious fact that they had no clue what hockey was or is, and explained it in a manner indicating that the audience isnt familiar with it (a penalty is when someone does something wrong and he has to go sit by him self while his team only plays with four players, while the other team plays with five (and this is a power play...)). Anyway, they did some fancy statistical analysis and came to the conclusion that teams wearing black jerseys get an average of 2 more minutes in the box the guys in white. Personally I dont think the results of this are very conclusive just for the fact of how inconsistant the refs are in the league. Anway, here is da link:

Why exactly is this happening, and who the hell green-lighted it? I don't want Nickelback to be associated with hockey, though I realize a lot of NHL players (including several Blues, dammit!) like Nickelback. (Shudder)

The best quote I've seen today, though I'm not exactly sure what context it was in...I liked it nonetheless: "Stop blaming Obama! Blame the NHL for allowing Nickelback to play at the NHL Awards in Vegas!" (as seen on a message board on nhl.com, after an article about the Caps defeating the Bruins tonight)

THe Blues just made me a member of their own club! yea me!

I am highly frustrated with the NHL, NBC, or whoever is responsible for the lack of a Round 2 schedule. I live in Cincinnati and have to come in to town to see the games -- I made the 2 Saturday games in Round 1. However, here it is noon on Wendesday and we still don't know the Round 2 schedule.

I can't buy tickets based on "Game 1: Date TBD" or "Game 2: Date TBD". I have work commitments I have to work around. As such, I need to know the schedule so I can make the appropriate plans.

So -- to the NHL, NBC, or whoever is responsible for this situation: A large BOO to you.

The Western Conference teams for the 2nd round were decided on Monday night. Why would they wait for the East to finish up to schedule the West? Ratings? Schedule the West on opposite days than the East. Staples Center issues? That should be the NBA"s problem. NHL playoffs are before the NBA. It pisses me off we have to are wait 3-4 days for an answer. I want to see the Kings in my barn Friday & Sunday night. Why is this so hard?? Can someone shed some light on this?
