Puck Daddy Blackhawks Tribute

30

Puck Daddy asked Game Time to offer a tribute to the Cup-champion Blackhawks. Guh. That was hard to type. Anyway, Brad Lee was up to the task. Enjoy a Game Time-style tribute.

The Islanders weren't terrible then, but in NHL '93 the defense (w)as so poorly graded in the stats, one was forced to play other teams. I used to play the St. Louis Blues for some good parity. With Kelly Chase, Garth Butcher, and David Lowry, I could crush and pummel the competition, while scoring with Shanahan, Hull, Janney or my favorite speedster: Nelson Emerson. My goalie? Cujo. Loved it, and NHL video games ever since. No matter the trials, tribulations, or just hard realities of the real world, in the games we could forget the wreck on Long Island and play out our frustrations by launching Wayne Gretzky into the next zip code.

An interesting tidbit from today's Five Reasons post on Puck Daddy (which, admittedly, a lot of you have already read), in which Leahy interviews Huffington Post and Hockey Independent writer B.D. Gallof, an Isles fan. Our pal Dominik would love this guy. Five Reasons Blogger B.D. Gallof Loves Hockey - Puck Daddy

Puck Daddy calls SBN Hockey the "No. 1 Story of the Year" in hockey blogging

Puck Daddy is one of our favorite sites and luckily for us, they seem to crack a smile at our stuff from time to time as well. So it's cool for us to see our hockey network get recognized like this. As many of you know, it was a tough decision for us on coming to this SBNation from our own independant site, but the chance to work with internet monster James Mirtle (our own personal Lumberg) and so many other great hockey sites on this network made it a move that we had to make. Considering all of the progress we've seen in just a few months here, we're pretty damn happy to be part of it. So, congrats to James and grand poo-bah Tyler for putting this together and thanks for inviting us along.

The Two-Line Pass Backhandedly Tells Dead Things Bloggers & Fans To Kindly Go Fuck Themselves

For all the non-Puck Daddy readers out there. The money section is under "What We Learned", about halfway through the column or roughly one third of the page down. And yes, our friend Ass-2-Mouth is involved, but in this bacon-and-eggs example it seems that A2M is the chicken (involved) while George Malik of Snapshots is the pig (committed). Of course, all of this hemming-and-hawing would make it even more hilarious if the Dead Things were to drop two straight . . . but let's not look ahead or anything.

Gallagher delievers a eulogy to Hawks fans

It's a good read and the comments are just as funny, although not as intentional. Gotta love the PD fans who can't take a joke. My fave was the guy who corrected Gallagher about Steve/Scott Larmer -- joke went right over his head. Anyway, give it a look.

Puck Daddy is jealous of the Blues

The esteemed Puck Daddy throws some love this way and calls the Blues the best story of the year.

Our announcers are homers?

I guess Leahy didn't watch the Detroit feed. I can't blame him for not watching it - if I had I choice, I wouldn't've watched it either.
