Forsberg becomes a hoosier

By Brad Lee
The Philadelphia Flyers finally pulled the trigger on the most rumored trade in the NHL this side of Bill Guerin. They traded oft-injured center Peter Forsberg to the Nashville Predators for a package of two players and two draft picks. Below is the breakdown.

Defenseman Ryan Parent - 18th pick in the 05 draft. He played 10 games in the AHL playoffs last year and went back to the OHL for this year. Has nine points in 32 games this year.

Winger Scottie Upshall - 6th pick in the 02 draft. Former captain of the Canadian World Juniors team. In 77 NHL games over parts of three seasons he has 32 points. Has played in 14 NHL games this year and has three points.

First Round Pick
Third Round Pick

Both of the picks will probably be at the end of each round. Parent hasn't set the world on fire in the OHL and TSN projects Upshall as a third-line agitator.

Of course Forsberg has been battling foot issues even after trying more than 100 skates to alleviate the pain. In 40 games, Forsberg has 40 points. The Flyers have won zero games when Forsberg hasn't played.
