Al MacInnis Elected To Hall Of Fame

No doubt, first ballot player if you've ever seen one

By Brad Lee

According to the Post-Dispatch, former Blues captain and current general manager in waiting Al MacInnis was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame today. Chopper retired with the third most career goals, assists and total points among all NHL defensemen. He won the Conn Smythe Trophy when he helped lead the Calgary Flames to his only Stanley Cup championship in 1989. And he also was in that dreaded Flames music video where all the players, including Brett Hull, pretended to play instruments and sing (which I'm sure Gallagher will post right here before too long.)

UPDATE!

According to NHL.com, Mark Messier, Ron Francis and Scott Stevens were also elected to the HOF. Boy that Stevens guy would have looked good in a Blues sweater. Hey wait a second...

What a travesty
