The Blues two games in 24 hour road trip concludes this afternoon/evening in the Atlanta. Through the unique NHL standings, the Blues can be pleased and ticked off at the results of the last two games played. While losing both games 2-1- Thursday in St. Louis versus Calgary, and last night in Philadelphia- the Blues hung on long enough to send the game to overtime and get a point in both games. So while the team has only won once in the last five games played, they are riding a two game point streak.
It is almost 80 degrees in St. Louis today. That'll put a smile on your face (unless you're not in St. Louis).
Other things to be happy about, regardless of your location:
- Atlanta's franchise best player, Ilya Kovalchuk has a broken foot and won't be with us today. Don't worry, he's not dead or anything, but he wont be playing.
- According to our friend Jeremy Rutherford of the Post-Dispatch, Roman Polak is expected to play today, and Barret Jackman and Andy McDonald are healthy enough to play. Chris Kerber tweets that Keith Tkachuk and Darryl Sydor are being given "maintenance days" by the team and will sit out today's game.
- Ty Conklin gets the start in goal.
- Project Mayhem continues. It has been confirmed that DanGNR, and Mrs. DanGNR are in attendance at Philips Arena, and it can be assumed that HildyMac will be there as well. Don't be surprised to see a Game Time logo somewhere in the crowd.
Here is your game day thread. Make us proud.
