St. Louis Game Time PROSPECT SUNDAYS

Forwards header

The regular season has ended for Blues' prospects at every level, and in some cases, their playoff seasons came to a close as well this week.

Lars Eller capped off a solid rookie pro season in Peoria by being called up to St. Louis to finish the 2009-10 season in the NHL, and Eller responded with a goal in the Blues' home finale on Friday, a 6-3 win over Anaheim.

Eller also scored in the one AHL game he played this week, tallying Peoria's only goal in he 4-1 loss at Milwaukee on Apr. 6 that mathematically eliminated the Rivermen from the playoffs. Julian Talbot, who scored in Peoria's 3-2 road loss at Manitoba on Friday night, was the only other AHL-level forward prospect to score a goal this week.

In Alaska, rookie Anthony Peluso managed a goal, a plus-1, and six minutes in penalty time in four playoff games, but it wasn't enough as the Aces won Game One on "home" ice in Wasilla (due to a scheduling conflict at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage), then lost three in a row to Stockton.

In the United States League, prospect Max Tardy and the Tri-City (Kearney, NE) Storm made the playoffs last week as the last team in, on the last night of the season, and were swept right out of the playoffs by USHL power Omaha in three straight games. Tardy, a power play specialist (8 of 12 goals, 11 of 24 assists on the man advantage in the regular season) was held to a single assist in the three playoff games.

And in major junior, forward prospects Philip McRae and James Livingston, along with their Plymouth Whaler teammates, were swept out of the OHL playoffs by defending league and Memorial Cup champion Windsor this week. McRae remains in the league's top ten playoff scorers, however, with 6-9-15 totals in nine playoff games.
