Road Music: 01/13 @ Los Angeles Kings

The best treatment for a game full of suck is another game. The sooner the Blues can focus on the next game, the sooner they can put this ugliness behind them. As it turns out, they head back to battle again tonight, facing the LA Kings. The Blues have to rebound with this game. They can't let this situation get any worse. I'm not sure if it even can, at this point.

Been Down So Long / The Doors

Not far from the Staples Center is Venice Beach, where 45 years ago Ray Manzarek was approached by Jim Morrison, leading the two UCLA film students to form The Doors. Thereafter, The Lizard King was set on the path to Rock 'N Roll immortality.

The Enemy: The Kings are far from immortal. While they were the sexy pick as Cup contenders at the beginning of season, they have struggled as of late. They come into tonight's contest 4-6-0 in their last 10 games, and are themselves looking to rebound off of a tough loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. They've just locked up one of their top young defensemen, Jack Johnson, through 2019. He leads their D corps with 31 points, good for 4th on the team. The Kings leader is Anze Kopitar with 45 points (15G / 30A, and 5 GWG). In net, expect Jonathan Quick to be tough to beat (2.18 GAA/ .920 SV%). These guys are just one point ahead of the Blues in the standings, so a win here would be extremely valuable.
