Do two wins in a row make a streak? Screw it, the Blues are on a winning streak!!! After a few days off from a successful trip to Philly, the Blues now begin one their Western Canada road trips. The first stop is Vancouver, British Columbia, home of last year's Western Conference champions, and quite possibly the most annoying fans in the NHL. At the least, an argument can be made for this dubious distinction. The Green Men? Seriously? Cheering LOOOOUUUU for every clearing attempt that happens to be on net? (not that they're doing much cheering right now). The Wave? The fucking WAVE? As if all of THAT wasn't enough ...

I Wanna Riot / Rancid & Stubborn All-Stars

The Enemy: Even with the Stanley Cup Final loss, the Canucks had just as short of offseason as the Bruins, and there's already talk of a hangover. At the center of the storm is Roberto Luongo, who's 5 starts so far this year have yielded a record of 2-2-1. His personal stat line is a very pedestrian 3.17 GAA / .880 SV%. As to be expected, the bulk of their offense is coming from Daniel Sedin (4G/8A) and Henrik Sedin (3G/7A). The youngsters to watch are Cody Hodgson, who is essentially a rookie this year, and goalie Cory Schneider (1.97 / .930 in 3 starts). Aside from the crew that we learned to hate last year, the Canucks just complete a trade with the Florida Panthers. They sent Marco Sturm and Mikael Samuelsson to South Beach in exchange for David Booth, Steven Reinprecht and a 2013 third-round pick.

Note that the Canucks are playing in Edmonton as I write this. Hodgson has scored his second goal of the season, but the score is 3-1 after two periods of play. Luongo started, but gave up 3 goals on 14 SOG and was yanked for Schneider. With this happening the night before, it's anybody's guess who will start tonight against our Blues.

Final Verse: Being in Vancouver, the game doesn't start until 9 PM St Louis time. The TV broadcast is on Fox Sports MW, and the radio is split once again due to the Cardinal's postseason: Over-the-air will be on "Fresh" 102.5 FM KEZK (which reminds me, I bet biting fingers is hell on your braces), but the web feed will be coming from both KEZK and also KMOX 1120 AM. The GDT should be along shortly beforehand. Until then, this is your pregame warmup. Gather here, talk World Series, talk riots, and enjoy the best video to come from the whole experience: "It works on so many levels"
