So Friday night the Blues were in Calgary while the St. Louis Cardinals were playing Game 7 of the World Series and winning their 11th championship. Apparently many of us were a little distracted. Hopefully now that we're past that as a city and the Rams still suck, maybe the Blues will start getting more attention. That begins tonight with the Blues in Edmonton.

In case you haven't been paying attention, and judging by your rally squirrel shirt you haven't, the Oilers are actually a good team so far this year. They're in first place in the Northwest Division with a 6-2-2 record. I wonder how many games it took the Oilers last year to earn six wins? I'll tell you, it was 21.

Leading the charge for the Oilers is No. 1 overall draft pick from this past season, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. With a name like that, it's only a matter of time before he has his own candy bar. His five goals leads the team and is 13th in the rankings in this young season. And speaking of young, he was born in 1993. That's depressing, boys and girls. That means the tiny teen (he weights 175 pounds) was born the same year the characters on 90210 graduated high school (Bill Simmons reference).

The Oilers are winning with goaltending. Nikolai Khabibulin has a 0.97 goals-against average while Devan Dubnyk's is 1.98. They both have saved more than 93 percent of the shots they've faced (Khabibulin's save percentage is above 96 percent).

Just remember, the Oilers fans love Ryan Smyth. And Ryan Smyth is a little bitch crybaby.

This is your game day thread. Comment like it's a World Series parade.
