LEGACY PLAYER McRAE SCORING IN BUNCHES FOR RIVERMEN:

We're going to let actions -- or, in this case, action videos -- speak louder than words this week.

Everyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last two years already knows that Basil McRae's son Philip is a Blues' prospect playing in peoria, that Philip has already had a good taste of the NHL, and that he's scoring goals in Geoff Courtnall-like streaks down in Peoria to try and get back to the NHL.

Peoria coach Jared Bednar has had McRae working on a line with Jay Barriball and Stefan della Rovere, and the Kid Line has been paying dividends for the Rivermen in the early going.

In video highlights from Peoria's wild 7-6 OT win over Rockford on Friday night, we get good looks at all three of McRae's goals. At 0:20 of the video, you can see him poke the puck past Rockford goalie Alec Richards from inside the scrum at the front of the net (with Barriball and SDR assisting). Later, at 1:35, McRae unloads a blast from the high slot that beats substitute IceHog netminder Alexander Salak, and at 1:45 of the video, McRae again fires a one-timer past Salak, this time from the faceoff circle, to tie the game and send it into OT. Both late goals were on the power play.

Note also the sweet desert camo sweaters the Rivermen are wearing for their Veteran's Day tribute.

Here's McRae's post-game interview with Peoria Journal-Star beat writer Dave Eminian after the comeback victory.

And, as promised two weeks ago, here's the video package from McRae's first pro hat trick earlier this season, on the road in Austin (no audio).
