DELLA ROVERE A MIGHTY OAK FOR RIVERMEN:

His name translates to "Steve Of Oak," and second-year man Stefan Della Rovere is proving to be a solid player for the Blues' organization since being acquired prior to the 2010-11 season from Washington, in exchange for heavyweight D.J. King.

After four years with Barrie of the OHL, in which he averaged about 16 goals, 35 points and 120 PIM per year (along with 20 OHL career goals on the power play), Della Rovere turned pro in the 2010 playoffs with Hershey, appearing in just two games for the eventual Calder Cup champions.

He was traded to the Blues during the following off-season, and put up an 8-8-16 scoring line with an even plus-minus, 110 PIM and three game-winners in 66 games.

So far in eight games this season, Della Rivere has two goals and four points, a plus-1 mark, and 37 penalty minutes... five of which came in the fight you'll see here in our featured video. In this video, Della Rovere takes on noted AHL heavyweight Kyle Beach, older brother of Blues' prospect Cody Beach. Della Rovere hurt his hand in this fight on Oct. 28, and has been out of the Peoria lineup since then.
