San Jose Cheap Artists At Blues GDT

"It's not my fault he's shorter than me and his head is next to my elbow as I magically appear out of the penalty box and knock him out of action for more than a year! I bet he comes back and scores a goal tonight before disappearing for 13 months!"

I'd say that we should look for the Blues to be on the hunt for Joe Thornton to give him some retribution for knocking David Perron out of action for 97 games with a shot to the head last November, but the Blues have had their chance and haven't made him pay with a pound of flesh. That boat has sailed. What the Blues can do is get another two points and stay in touch with the leaders of the Western Conference.

As I wrote on the cover of tonight's paper (you're a subscriber, right?), this is the first game in recent memory where the Blues come into a game with the expectation that they should win a game against the San Jose Sharks. But if you look at the standings (not the points earned per game played, please), you'll see the Blues are in fifth and the Sharks in seventh. Suck it, wine drinkers. The beer town is better right now.

Brian Elliott is the starter, right? He gets Chicago, Detroit and now San Jose. Jaroslav Halak gets Columbus and Colorado. While Ken Hitchcock won't name a starting goaltender, we know. It doesn't matter. As long as Halak doesn't get his Euro feelings hurt, it's cool.

Let's get to fishing. This is your game day thread. Comment like we're gonna need a bigger boat.
