The Blues are hot. St. Louis and Chicago are tied for the best record in the last 10 games with a sparkling 8-1-1. Those 17 points are awesome. But that still only puts them tied with Detroit for the third most points in the Western Conference. In other words, you have to win to keep pace at this point because everyone is winning -- even the Nashville Predators who sit just three points behind the Blues.
With that close gap, you know no-neck Barry Trotz will have the Preds up and ready for a big Saturday night game in the land of Opry. Jaroslav Halak will have his hands full. He's the starter tonight and possibly tomorrow. Or the next game. All the Ken Hitchcock will commit to is that Halak gets two of the next three games. Brian Elliott probably could use a little rest anyway.
It's the first night of back-to-back nights for the Blues as they come home for a hotly anticipated matchup with Columbus Sunday. As hotly anticipated as herpes returning, right King Donut? I can make that joke about King Donut because he's part of a group of insane people actually in Nashville tonight. Hopefully they don't get arrested on TV. I think Cops films a lot in Nashville.
Jordin Tootoo can fuck off off.
