Blues At Wintry Natural Disasters GDT

Chris Stewart has been a disappointment so far this season. His 12 points puts him ninth on the team, just one ahead of Vladimir Sobotka who isn't even playing right now.

In his last five games he has, let me take the time to count it up...one assist on Dec. 15 against the Rangers and then, still looking. That's it. Wait, that's it? No goals, one assist the last five games? No wonder he was moved to the third line much of Sunday against Columbus. His last goal was Dec. 3. Before that, it was Nov. 8. Someone find that man a divining rod because I'd call that a drought. Did someone say slump buster?

I think everyone around this team had Stewart penciled in for more than 30 goals this season after he netted 15 in 26 games with the Blues after arriving from Colorado, tonight's opponent. Maybe seeing the old burgundy and blue will make him see red from the goal light. Or maybe he'll go another 10 games without scoring. Who can tell such things? If you can, tell me what the Powerball will be.

The Avalanche are currently 12th in the Western Conference with 33 points, nine less than the Blues. They've been better of late with a 6-4-0 record in their last 10 games. At home in the Rocky Mountains, the Avs are just 10-9-0. They've lost only one game after being tied in regulation. That's news you can use. Maybe.

Erik Johnson has a four-game point scoring streak coming into tonight (stick tap Jeremy Rutherford). Rumors about bars on Washington Avenue in St. Louis seeing a decline in revenue this year after Johnson's trade are totally unproven.

Brian Elliott, want to defend your league best save percentage and goals-against average? Cool, you get the start.

This is your game day thread. Comment like we're back at the chalet after hitting the slope and enjoying a hot toddy or something.
