Thanks for the memories, Mr. Brewer, and best of luck to you and your family in Tampa.
Welcome abaord, prospect Brock Beukeboom, a 6' 2, 200-pound right-hand shot with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario League. Tampa's 63rd-overall selection in the 2010 Entry Draft, "McKeens Hockey" chief scout David Burstyn had this to say about Beukeboom's play in the 2010 CHL Top Preospects Game, where Beukeboom skated for the victorious Team Cherry:
Beukeboom continues to thrive as he plays a simple, yet effective game due to his penchant for delivering timely hits and keeping forwards honest .. his puck skills are limited, however his game is appreciated for his play without the puck .. he routinely stands guys up at the line and forces them to throw the puck into the zone where his defence partner can quickly retrieve it .. administered a hit against Seguin where he was penalized but it took Seguin out of the game afterwards .. has the rare ability to change the complexion of a game with a hit and always looks to hit early to get himself involved.
An April 1992 birthdate, Beukeboom will be ready to turn pro at the end of next season. He adds additional size and depth to the Blues' stable of defense prospects.
