Road Music: 02/27 @ Calgary Flames

The killer stretch of 7-games-in-10-days concludes with tonight's match-up in Calgary. This is about as big as it gets for the team's playoff chances. Right now, the Blues sit in 13th place, 6 points behind the 8th place Calgary Flames. A win here moves us up, and holds back the team that currently sits in that last playoff spot. Now, there's several here that have given up on the season already... but it can still happen. Does talking playoffs make me Crazy? Probably....

The Enemy: The Flames have lost two in a row, the last in a shootout to the Sharks. They actually held a lead in the third period, but gave up a tying goal, and then lost in the skills competition. They'll be looking to bounce back, for sure, in the two games of this home-and-home series with the Blues. Their goaltending is led, as always, by Miikka Kiprusoff, who has already started 54 games this year and is probably going to have his 6th straight 70+ start season. Such a workhorse. This year he stands at 2.61 GAA and .906 SV%. The scoring is led by Jarome Iginla, as usual, with 25G and 33A. His supporting cast includes Alex Tanguay, Olli Jokinen, and Brendan Morrison, all with 40 pts or more. These are all guys we know well, and should have a good feel for already. No real surprises here.

The puck drops at 7PM St Louis time, with the GDT shortly before that. Broadcasts are on the usual outlets: FSMW for TV, and the mighty KMOX 1120 AM for radio. Until that time, gather here and celebrate Bishop, speculate about Conklin, and take in another Cee Lo tune that's been heard at the rink:
