ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Thursday the club has re-signed defenseman Nikita Nikitin to a one-year contract extension.

In 41 games with the Blues, Nikitin was 1-8-9 with a plus-1 and 10 PM. He also skated in 22 games for Peoria, posting a 3-11-14 scoring line with a plus-1 and 12 PM. All three of his goals for the Rivermen were scored on the power play.
Reports (from guess who) have Nikitin's salary at $600K for the one-year deal, but seeing as how he was paid $800K last year, your GTPD is having a hard time believing that the Omsk native was willing to come back for a 25% pay cut.
