According to Jeremy Rutherford, the Blues will announce shortly that they have signed both Jamie Langenbrunner and Jason Arnott to one-year deals. If this was 1999, these would be huge signings. In 2011, they are a pair of low-risk acquisitions that will give the Blues some grit, leadership and experience. They both have the ability to contribute on the scoreboard as well, even if they find themselves playing third-line type of minutes.
Expect more analysis to be forthcoming, but these signings are fairly safe and are of the type that can't really hurt, could likely help and most certainly give the new owner flexibility with contracts come next summer. Here is the data and statistics on these two from last year:
