Avalanche At Blues GDT

Normally we try to do a witty headline and shit around here. There's this game tonight and one tomorrow night. And it's the weekend and we have weekend shit going on. Plus that paper thing we do. I'm already feeling out of words and we're not even to Saturday night's game.

So those Avalanches are living right. Last night in the Mile High City Ryan O'Reilly scored the overtime winner with two seconds to spare before the shootout. Did I mention he created a turnover in the neutral zone and scored the goal on a slapshot alsmost 45 feet out? Yeah. I was thinking about Roman Turek and Owen Nolan myself. Yeah, we don't let those memories go very quickly.

So it will be interesting to see what the starting goalies will be tonight and Sunday against San Jose. I'm writing this enough in advance that I don't know. So maybe we'll be surprised together. Which will be nice. I love surprises. Jaroslav Halak probably didn't deserve to get pulled in the second period at New Jersey on Thursday night, but the motivational trick by Ken Hitchcock worked. You figure Halak will get another chance; my guess would be tonight.

That Brian Elliott, he keeps pulling surprises out of his trapper. He put on an All-Star display in stopping every shot he saw in regulation, overtime and for shits and giggles the shootout too. Who says the Blues struggle in the skills competition.

Oh yeah, Erik Johnson is back tonight. Meh.

This is your game day thread. Comment like you're not holding anything back for Sunday night's game.
