WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
ITEM: G Niklas Lundström is the only Blues' prospect to medal at the 2013 World Juniors, leading Juniorkronorna to the silver medal while supplanting undrafted Joel Lassinantti as Sweden's top junior goaltender. Lundström's stat line for the tournament: 4 GP, 224 mins, 6 GA, 107 SA, 3-1-0, 1.60 GAA, 94.4% save pct.
ITEM: RW Ty Rattie and his Canadian teammates finished without a medal at the WJC for the first time in 15 years, losing the Bronze Medal game to the host Team Russia by a 6-5 score in OT. Rattie's stat line for the tournament: 6 GP, 3-0-3, even, 0 PM, 1 PPG, 1 SHG, 0 GWG.
ITEM: G Jordan Binnington came off the bench and played well in Canada's 5-1 loss to Team USA, earning the start in the Bronze medal game vs. Russia, where he was pulled less than eight minutes in after giving up three goals on five shots. Binnington's stat line for the tournament: 2 GP, 35 mins, 4 GA, 31 SA, 0-0-0, 6.82 GAA, 87.1% save pct.
ITEM: LW Dmitrij Jaskin finished the tournament as the Czech Republic's scoring leader, his three goals helping stake the Czechs to a fifth-place finish. He was selected Best Player for the Czechs in their 3-1 win over Finland and in their 7-0 loss to Team USA. Jaskin's stat line for the tournament: 6 GP, 3-3-6, plus-3, 12 PM, 1 PPG, 0 SHG, 1 GWG.
ITEM: D Petteri Lindbohm served as Finland's captain in the 2013 World Juniors, leading Suomi to a seventh-place finish. Finland won all three games in the Relegation Round by a combined score of 24-5, and Lindbohm was selected Best Player in the 3-1 loss to the Czechs on Dec. 28. Lindbohm's stat line for the tournament: 6 GP, 0-2-2, plus-8, 4 PM, 0 PPG, 0 SHG, 0 GWG.
