GameThread for Vancouver Canucks at St. Louis Blues, Oct 25, 2013

There's no World Series scheduled, so you better have a damn good excuse if you don't go to the game tonight.

Dilip Vishwanat

Enjoy tonight's travel day for the World Series by venturing downtown and checking out a hockey game. Please. The Blues' attendance numbers will appreciate it. Early October is always a tough draw for the hockey team since the other show in town apparently is as addicted to going to the playoffs as I am to my daily pot of coffee.

But tonight? Let the Rams get the brunt of the bad attendance. The Blues have been playing some pretty consistently good hockey - sure, the 6-2 loss to the Sharks was ugly, but let's chalk that one up to extenuating and very stupid circumstances. The blown lead to the Jets? Not pretty, especially when you counted how many times you heard the puck clang off of the post.

But tonight? The Canucks are pooped. The Blues are rested. The Blues are getting injured guys back, while the Canucks have had to have AHLers fly in from Utica, NY to plug holes in their line-up.

Vancouver's played the most games in the NHL. The Blues have played the least. Talk about an advantage.

This is your GameDay Thread. Let's give Roberto Luongo something to tweet about. Let's Go Blues.
