WOLVES OPEN SEASON WITH SPLIT IN TEXAS TWO-STEP
Allen, Wolves claim 2-1 win in season opener.
(10-04-13) SAN ANTONIO, Texas---The Chicago Wolves opened their 20th season with a 2-1 triumph over San Antonio on Friday night at AT&T Center.
Corey Locke and left wing Dmitrij Jaskin recorded goals in their Wolves debuts while goaltender Jake Allen rejected 41 shots to earn the win for John Anderson, who coached his first game with the Wolves since the 2008 Calder Cup championship.

(10-05-13) CEDAR PARK, Texas --- The Chicago Wolves were unable to complete the opening-weekend sweep as they fell to the Texas Stars 4-1 Saturday night at Cedar Park Center.
The Wolves (1-1-0-0) got their lone goal of the game from defenseman Jani Hakanpää in the second period, but it was not enough to escape the three-goal lead Texas built up.

PAW PRINTS: Jake Allen emerged from opening weekend at the top of the AHL's goalie leaderboard; "Jake The Snake" has a 1.00 GAA, 97.6 save percentage (42 shots, 41 saves) and the win over San Antonio ... Six of the Blues' prospects assigned to Chicago -- wingers Cody Beach, Tyler Shattock and Sebastian Wännström, defensemen Cade Fairchild and Brett Ponich, and goalie Jordan Binnington -- were scratched for both games in Texas, while LW Yannick Veilleux dressed only for the game in San Antonio.
