St. Louis Blues At Florida Panthers Morning Open Thread

Chris Porter returns as the Blues travel to the Sunshine State for the first of back to back games.

Mark Stuart broke Brenden Morrow. A well-placed crosscheck to the ribs of the Blues forward, and he's out for at least tonight's game. So is Magnus Päjäärvi, he of the injured reserve. That leaves two open roster spots: one for the return of Maxim Lapierre, and one for the return of Chris Porter.

Porter, you may remember, was the odd man out after the Morrow signing this off-season. He was sent to the AHL's Chicago Wolves to start the season. Tonight the two of them will be hanging around the bottom six and coach Ken Hitchcock will have to make some line-tweaks.

David Backes, Alexander Steen, and T.J. Oshie are all averaging above 22 minutes a night. Steen leads the league in goals. The Florida Panthers are in third to last place in the Eastern Conference, a conference that the West has owned this season.

And the last time these two teams met, the Blues won a little bit. Just a tad.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later for five questions (two bonus!) with Litter Box Cats' Kevin, a game preview, and a Friday night game day thread.

Time to get two more points.
