The Wolves (10-9-0-2) received goals from left wing Dmitrij Jaskin, center Christian Hanson, and defenseman Taylor Chorney as they narrowed an early 3-0 deficit to 4-3 in the final minute. Goaltender Jake Allen (9-5-2) kicked out 22 shots in the loss.

PAW PRINTS: Defenseman David Shields, who started the season on fire, has cooled off in the last few weeks ... The third-year pro from Rochester, NY has not scored in his last eight games, and was benched for the game with Iowa ... That is the only game so far this season for which Shields has not dressed ... Winger Sebastian Wännström, who scored three goals (including a game-winner) and was a plus-5 in a brief two-game demotion to Kalamazoo, has not seen action since being recalled to the Wolves on Nov. 17 ... Allen's numbers took a hit this week, and he has dropped out of the AHL's Top Ten in goals-against average (13th, 2.30) and save percentage (12th, 92.2%) as a result ... "Jake The Snake" is still in the top five among AHL goaltenders in both wins (5th, 9) and minutes played (5th, 964:45).
