Well, that Columbus game went better than I had feared. While the Blues did come off the pedal a bit in mid-game, they still held on to secure the win, their 4th in a row. I hope the boys sleep well and have plenty in the tank. I have a feeling that the Red Wings will not be as easy to beat at home as they were at Scottrade. Enough about them, though. This should be posted early enough, I hope you all have a chance to meet some of us for the viewing party / GTGT / TweetUp tonight. We're gathering at The Post in Maplewood for tonight's game. Hopefully the game provides us plenty of reasons for celebratory drinks...
The Post is at 7372 Manchester Road.

The Enemy: We pretty much already know what we need to know about Detroit - we hate 'em. After dropping the season opener to the Blues, the Wings have alternated wins and loses since. Their last game was a win against Dallas, 4-1. That pattern would indicate a loss tonight, no? They've lost Carlo Colaiacovo to injury (shock!) and since our home opener, they've signed Kent Huskins. Overall, they've posted a 3-2-1 record, and even more telling, have a -2 goal differential.
The leading scores are the obvious picks, Pavel Datsyuk (2-6-8) and Henrik Zetterberg (2-5-7). Jimmy Howard has started all 6 games, and is currently riding a .907 save percentage.

Final Verse: The Blues are still on Eastern time, so another early start. The puck drops at 6:30 PM St Louis time, and the GDT will already be rolling strong by that point. The TV broadcast is on Fox Sports MW, and the radio call will be on KMOX 1120 AM. If you can't join us at the bar, please make your presence known here at the GDT. Until then, this is your pregame warmup.
Is there ever a bad time for this video? No, I didn't think so..
