Oilers At Blues Morning Open Thread: You Again?

After a frustrating loss against the Calgary Flames Sunday night, the Blues face an opponent they've found exceedingly beatable as of late: the Edmonton Oilers.

Didn't the Blues just shut these guys out 3-0 Thursday night? I want to say they did.

* looks at box score *

Yep. Yes they did. The only win on their Western Canada road trip came against these same Edmonton Oilers, who the Blues have consistently owned over the past few seasons. How consistently? They've shutout the Oilers four of the last eight times these two teams have met. Seriously, they're running on a 50% shutout rate.

The Oilers just aren't very good against the Blues. St. Louis has won six in a row against Edmonton at home and 11 of the last 13 games. It doesn't matter which goalie is in net, the Blues seem to have their number. Alex Steen especially has it, with a goal and an assist on Saturday night, and 11 points in his last eight games against the Oilers.

This is your morning open thread -- any predictions for the evening? Will this be a good chance for the Blues to get two points? Of course -- but so was Sunday night. No brain-farts tonight, guys -- and shoot nearly 40 shots on the Edmonton net. You're guaranteed to have more go in than against Kipprusoff.
