GALLERY: The Peoria Rivermen's Thank-You To Fans

Last Sunday night was the last game for the Peoria Rivermen as the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, and perhaps in franchise existence.

From my friend Andy Kravetz of the Peoria Journal-Star comes this gallery of post-game photos. After their 3-0 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals, the Peoria Rivermen stayed on the ice for the fan thank you festivities -- which included the class move of signing jerseys, giving out handshakes and hugs, and signing autographs for about two hours and 45 minutes after the game.

It's never fun to see a team relocate, and the Rivermen may do just that. What is known is that the long relationship with the Blues that they've had is over, and a new one with the Vancouver Canucks has begun. All in all, though, a great class move by the organization to give the fans a chance to say goodbye to players that they've grown attached to and, of course, to their team.
