It's always such a relief to know that the Blues are a lock for the playoffs, isn't it? No more nailbiting, no more getting upset about every goal against - we can just watch the game tonight and enjoy it for what it is. Of course, the Blues still have something to play for: home ice advantage.
Then again, their home record this season is 13-8-1, and their road record is 14-9-1, so six of one, half dozen of the other.
No Barret Jackman tonight as he got hurt blocking a second period shot on Tuesday night, so Kris Russell is in. Jaroslav Halak isn't ready to start yet, but he miiiiight be on the bench behind Brian Elliott, which means that the playoff goalie intrigue starts early.
Jay Bouwmeester's going to the playoffs, while the rest of his old team that're in town tonight get to sit at home. This must be pretty bittersweet for him. Just kidding -- I'm pretty sure he's thrilled.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later for some Lighting the Lamp, a game preview, the GDT, and hopefully a celebratory "hey we beat a bad team and didn't play to their level!" recap.
