2013 NHL Playoffs: GameThread for Los Angeles Kings at St. Louis Blues, May 2, 2013

Time for some more big hits, solid goaltending, and Blues momentum building.

Dilip Vishwanat

All I have to say is that if the Blues don't come out fired up tonight there is something wrong with their noggin's. There is no way that the team couldn't be excited about their game one win, which was their first first game victory in the playoffs since 2003 (!). Alexander Steen's goals, Brian Elliott's goaltending, the hitting, the energy - everything was there for the three regulation periods. Sure, they got worn out by the time overtime hit, but that won't happen tonight, right?

God, I hope it doesn't happen tonight. The game starts at 8:30 Central Time, so a regulation win would be in order. The start time's still early enough to where the crowd shouldn't be asleep - there were some stretches of time in game one where it sounded like the roof was going to come off, and other lulls where I could have nodded off on my couch it was so silent. Energy for a full game would be a plus, both for the team and for the fact that I want to make sure I'm awake at the end of the game.

This is your game day thread. Here's to Ryan Reaves and the fourth line continuing to play rock 'em, sock 'em hockey. Here's to momentum. Here's to going into LA with a 2-0 lead.

Let's go Blues.
