2014 Olympic Hockey: Team USA Roster Announced, Includes Backes, Oshie, Shattenkirk

New, comments

After the 2014 Winter Classic today, Team USA announced the men's Olympic team. St. Louis is well represented.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

There has been speculation as to who would be on Team USA's men's Olympic hockey team recently, but most of it's been around goaltending decisions and Bobby Ryan. It's safe to say that there was very little debate as to whether the Blues' captain David Backes or his linemate T.J. Oshie would be on the squad, or if star defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk'd make it. If you were one of those still speculating, speculate no longer, because all three have been named to Team USA.

The Blues should be very well represented in Sochi, with guys on Team USA and presumably on Team Canada, Team Sweden, Team Slovakia, and the Czech team. Also, Doug Armstrong and Ken Hitchcock will be representing Canada as part of the management group and as an assistant coach, respectively.

The complete Team USA Olympic roster is as follows:
