Remember before Christmas when the Blues went to Calgary and everyone expected it to be an easy win? Remember when the Blues played two and a half periods? Remember Patrik Berglund's ill-advised penalty and then David Backes' in overtime?
Hey, speaking of remembering, did anyone remember how to shoot the puck in the shootout that night?
So many things to remember, so little time. The Blues are rolling along, with 17 points in their last 9 games. They're 8-1-1 in their last 10 games played. They have a six game winning streak going. They're tied with the Penguins for the third best record in the league, behind only the Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks - and they have a better winning percentage than any of those three teams.

I would say that the halfway point of this season finds the Blues in a very, very favorable place. Let's hope they keep it up and not let the Flames run over them. Calgary might be second to last in the Western Conference, but they have some bite to them. You underestimate the Flames, you pay the price.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a CCR preview, a GDT, and a RBR re-cap. While you're lollygagging about, head on over to Matchsticks and Gasoline and say hello.
