Despite good numbers so far this season, Ondrej Pavelec hasn't played well as of late. He's winless in his last four starts, blew a lead to the Detroit Red Wings, and got pulled after giving up three goals on 11 shots against the Minnesota Wild(s).
Thank goodness the Blues've gotten him this afternoon.
The 7-7-2 goaltender is one of the most unreliable in the game, and this fact is not a new one. What is new is that he has a backup, Michael Hutchinson, who is worthy of pushing for playing time - and people are calling for it. In an article from the Winnipeg Sun, Paul Friesen advocates for a change in starter. He's probably right.
If Pavelec's career is any indication, the Blues may be seeing the backup at some point tonight.
This is your gameday thread. Comment like you're trying to emulate Jay Bouwmeester's iron man streak (probably kaput after today).
Let's do this. Let's go Blues.
